Initial information on Daniel Wilson and Martha Robinson and their descendants came from The Martha and Daniel Wilson Family History, Compiled by Martha Jane Chappell of Marne, Michigan, in 1932. It was read at the annual Daniel and Martha Wilson family reunion at Victoria Park, Canada, Ontario, Niagara Falls, on 3 Aug 1932, the anniversary of Daniel Wilson and Martha Robinson's arrival in Canada and the United States. This information was also recounted in Niagara County, New York.
The year of Daniel Wilson's birth is derived from The Martha and Daniel Wilson Family History, page 14, where it is said that he was 80 years of age at the time of his death in Jun 1857. His date of death is also given as 1857 on his gravestone. However, Niagara County, page 812, gives his date of death as 9 Jun 1851. The Martha and Daniel Wilson Family History, page 4, states that Daniel Wilson and Martha Robinson were married in 1802 or 1803. From Niagara County, New York, page 812 (which is believed not to be as reliable as The Martha and Daniel Wilson Family History): "The founder of this family in America was Daniel Wilson, who was born in England, grew to manhood there and married Martha Robinson. With their children they took passage in 1832 on a sailing vessel bound for the United States and safely reached their destination after a voyage of fourteen weeks. (Niagara County, New York, does not seem aware of the stop in Canada.) They settled in the town of Lockport, Niagara county, near the Erie Canal, where Daniel Wilson was a farmer. Both he and his wife died there and their burial was at Orangeport, his death occurring on June 9, 1851, and that of his wife on Oct. 26, 1861."

Martha Robinson (Porritt and Henry Robinson) was born in 1783 in England, Yorkshire, Loftus. She immigrated in 1840. She died on 21 or 26 Oct 1861 in USA, NY, Niagara, Lockport, and was buried in Orangeport Cemetery, USA, NY, Niagara County.
