Oliver Wilson-7 (Esther Parkman Oliver and Reuben Wilson-6, Ezra Wilson-5, Nathaniel Willson-4, Nathaniel Willson-3, Joseph Willson-2, Jacob Willson-1) was born on 14 Dec 1801 in USA, NY, Otsego, Richfield. Oliver and Mellisa Wilson moved to Ohio about 1840, based on the fact that their last two children, Esther Marion and Oliver were born in Ohio. In Ohio, Mellisa and three of their children, Caroline, Kiler, and Reuben, contracted, and died from, spotted fever. A fourth child, Nathaniel, also died in 1844, probably from spotted fever. As told by Esther "Lulu" Wilson, Oliver and Mellisa's granddaughter, Reuben Wilson sent his oldest son, Luther, to Ohio with a bob-sleigh to bring the remaining family members back to Wilson. They settled on the Andrew Hamblin farm on the Town Line Road. Five of Oliver and Mellisa's children were alive to make the trip back to New York. Oliver, at about 4 years, was the youngest child to make the journey back. He missed his mother so much that he chewed the ends off his mittens on the trip.
