- The Family Index is in two parts:
- An initial page provides lists for:
- Generation 1: Alexander and Jane (Armour) Wilson;
- Generation 2: Alexander Wilson Jr and Jane (Wilson) Pawling; and
- Generation 3: the children of Alexander Wilson Jr and Jane (Wilson) Pawling.
- The links for Generations 1 and 2 individuals on the initial page connect directly to the Genealogy pages for each of these individuals.
- The links for Generation 3 individuals who are identified as having had no descendants connect directly to the Genealogy pages for each of these individuals.
- The remaining links for Generation 3 individuals connect to pages that show all of the presently known descendants of each member of Generation 3 who had descendants. The descendants are shown in an outline format, by generation.
- For reference purposes, Generation numbers are provided before each person's name.
- Children are listed in their birth order.
- If an individual married more than once, or had more than one partner, that individual's name appears separately with each spouse or partner, and children are listed with the appropriate parents.
- This Index is most helpful for finding individuals within a family. For example, if you know that the individual you are looking for is a descendant of Ruth (Wilson) Mead, you can begin your search with Ruth.
- This Index is also very helpful for getting "the big picture" of the entire family, or of sections of it. However, it may also take more time to learn to use it most effectively.
