"CARTHAGE BOY IS KILLED IN MOTORBIKE MISHAP
"Timothy Earl Wilson, 13, 625 East Centennial, was pronounced dead at 12:50 p.m. Sunday upon arrival at McCune-Brooks Hospital where he was taken by Carthage ambulance.
"Wilson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Seely "Jack" Wilson, was killed and another boy was injured in a motorbike accident on private property at Morrow Mill. Death reportedly was due to a neck fracture.
"Lloyd A. Johnson, 17, 1015 South Orner, a passenger on the motorbike, received chin lacerations. He was taken to McCune-Brooks Hospital.
"According to the highway patrol, the motorbike approached a chain stretched across an entrance to the property. Troopers said the boys apparently did not see the chain in time to stop and tried to duck but could not get low enough. Both boys were thrown from the machine.
"Born December 28, 1956 in Carthage, he was a life-time resident here. A seventh grade student at Carthage Junior High School, he was a member of First Christian Church.
"Surviving are his parents and six sisters. The victim's only brother, Gary Wilson was killed in an automobile accident last August 31.
"Funeral directions were under the care of The Ulmer Funeral Home."
