Wilson Family Genealogy

The Wilson Family Members Name Index includes both Wilson descendants and their spouses. Under the Wilson Association Constitution and Bylaws, the spouse of a Wilson descendant is considered a Wilson Family Member.

Married women are listed under both their maiden and married surnames whenever both names are known.

When the maiden surname of a married woman is not known, she is listed only under her married surname.

When neither a person's first nor last name is known, that person is not included in the Name Index. For instance, if the given and maiden names of the wife of a particular family member are not known, she is not listed in this Index as "Wife of," "Mrs. So-and-So," "Name Unknown," or any comparable designation.

When there is more than one person with the same name, as, for instance, Stephen Melvin Wilson (one the son of Alexander Wilson Jr, another the son of William Armour Wilson), additional identifying information is given in the Name Index.

In several cases, we know that a particular couple had children, and may even know how many children and of which gender, but we do not know the names of the children. These children are listed under their surnames as "Child," "Daughter," or "Son." If there is more than one child with the same designation (Son, Daughter, Child) for whom we have no name, a number will appear after the designation. This number is an identifier only, and is not intended to be indicative of anything else.

In order to protect the privacy of living people, information is given on this website only for deceased individuals. Therefore, if the person for whom you are searching is still living, information on that person will not appear on this website and the person will not be indexed. We allow 110 years to pass from a person's birth before assuming that the person is deceased.
