"Three Rivers; Avis Lucille Earl 80, 251 S. Main St., died Feb. 24, 1990, at the Three Rivers Manor.
"She was born July 2, 1909, in Cass County, a daughter of Lorin and Myrtle (Schlorf) Chamberlain.
"On Aug. 4, 1927, she married Rex J. Earl, in South Bend, Ind.
"She graduated from Marcellus High School in 1926 as salutatorian of her class. She received her teaching certificate from Kalamazoo Normal College (Western Michigan University) and she taught in the following Michigan Schools; Globe, Oakridge, Corey and Shaw. She was a member of the Bethany Chapel, Three Rivers.
"Surviving are her husband; [her children, including] Gerald Earl, Three Rivers, and Richard Earl, Sturgis; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, George, Kenneth and Paul Chamberlain; and one infant son.
"The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Halverson Chapel, Three Rivers. Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bethany Chapel, Three Rivers, with the Rev. Luther Ash officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
