"Three Rivers; Rex J. Earl, 89, died Feb. 19, 1996, at Fairview Manor.
"He was born Oct. 10, 1906, in Decatur, a son of Reed and Ethel (Crippin) Earl.
"On Aug. 4, 1927, he married Avis Lucille Chamberlain, in South Bend, Ind. She died Feb. 24, 1990.
"He attended Decatur Schools and worked many years as a crane operator at the Weyerhauser Paper Company, formerly Eddy Paper Company, and Kieckhefer Container Corporation. He was a member of Bethany Chapel, Three Rivers, and he enjoyed gardening.
"Surviving are [his children, including] Gerald Earl, Three Rivers, and Richard Earl, Sturgis; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; [his siblings]; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and a son, Larry in 1952.
"Services were at 2 p.m. Feb. 22, 1996, at the Bethany Chapel, Three Rivers, with the Rev. John Snyder officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by the Halverson Chapel, Three Rivers, Three Rivers.
"Memorials may be directed to the Bethany Chapel."
