rained all night but slept good warm night morn. sunshine a min then clouded & rained rest of day

Dear ones-
In my hustle las night I never mentioned Fern’s birthday how I wold like to spank her & tomorrow I would do more spanking. I tho’t I would write some tonight so I could get this in the morn. mail. Well this has been a bad day outside rained part of last night & all day long & is just pouring down now. Leon, Bonnie & Bob Ellis, Golda & Dortha were here to dinner 13 of us (lucky numb) we had chicken & dressing, squash potatoes celery, cranberry jelly, olives, rolls, salad. peas, cheese, green peppers, salad dressing on lettuce. Jello fruit, fruit cake, white layer coconut cake, with 66 red candy hearts on in honor of Phoebe’s birthday. Helen & Eunice are calling on Baker’s I sent some of the papers you sent have not looked them all over have not found the piece you spoke of. the speach the Calif. lawyer made. Dortha has chicken pox. the little girls each got big dolls they can wear the girls baby cloths almost to big for them to handle. then they got handkerchiefs, slippers, aprons, nuts, candy, oranges, &c pa & I each a handkerchief & a picture of Harry’s little girl. I am getting pretty sleepy guess will say good night & go to bed
Mon. morn. 26 10 A.M.
Well the sun shown about 10 min. this morn. after rain all night now it is cloudy. I rested very good we had break. 9 A.M. erly for Mon. morn. no school this week so girls home.
Russell you & the others eat the English walnuts you gathered don’t save them for us. I guess Pa & Phoebe are going to Harry’s (she has bellyache about going) I wont go I can’t take the time to stay only a min. Pa wont have to unload the car maby we will want to camp. we are to stay around till after New Years one week today there is to be a floral parade at Passadena & all say we must not miss it then with nice weather away we go again. Nothing doing in the real estate business only one sail that was the first week we were here. Ellis has lost his job soon after we went to Valley C. oh it gives us a pain. the big doll Dortha’s cost over $10.00 & a new tricycle about 5 weeks ago no wonder they complain of hard times. Nuff sed. Harry dropped in last night he had been called to friends of his Packer I believe the name was. any way the woman’s mother was hurt they were in a car & another car bumped them they tho’t no one hurt but when they got home the Grandmother could not move they had to lift her from the car they called Harry & he thinks her hip is broken they will take Xeay she is 92, bad case. tell us all about Xmas & did you give the $5.00 on food sale for me. if they pay $2.00 in place of another sale pay for me. or any thing else. I want to do my share too. I don’t see where they payed back borrowed money if they gave you the whole proceeds to bank.

Papers come O.K. no short postage as I could see. Will Benedick’s take Kuney place. & Oh where did Luffs go. got a nice letter from Frank did you know he fell & cracked a rib in Oct. he is working again. hope you all well.
