Wilson Family Reunions
The Annual Wilson Family Reunion is held every year on the second Sunday in July in Niagara County, NY. All Wilson descendants and their spouses, as well as friends of the family, are very welcome to attend. Please don't wait for an "invitation." Although we send out "reminders" of the reunion to everyone for whom we have an email or snail-mail address, if you don't receive that notice, please still come. Sometimes things happen, and letters get lost in snail-mail or disappear into hyperspace.
Wilson Family Mini-Reunions can be held any time Wilson Family members decide to get together. If you have a Mini Reunion, please let us know about it, so we can include it on this site, and, hopefully, encourage other family members to get together on a smaller, perhaps regional, scale. Who knows - the way the Wilson family has spread across the country, these mini reunions could end up larger than the Annual Reunion! If you're interested in holding a Mini Reunion, contact us and we can let you know of other Wilson Family members in your area.
112th Annual Wilson Family Reunion, to be held on 12 July 2015 in Krull Park, Olcott, Town of Newfane, Niagara County, NY
Who: All descendants, and their spouses, of Alexander and Jane (Armour) Wilson. Also, descendants' step-children, adopted children, partners, in-laws, out-laws, and other friends of the Wilson family.
Also, for the first time, all descendants of Daniel and Martha (Robinson) Wilson.
What: The 112th annual gathering of the descendants of Alexander and Jane (Armour) Wilson.
When: Sunday, 12 July 2015, starting any time after 10 am.
The reunion officially starts around noon, but many folks come earlier to have more social time before things get too crowded.
The Historian generally arrives between 10 and 10:30 am, so if you have questions about your lineage, photos to share, or stories to tell, there will be someone there to greet you.
Lunch is about 1 pm, right after introductions.
Where: The 112th Reunion will be held in the south section of Krull Park (south side of Route 18, W Lake Road), Village of Olcott, Town of Newfane, Niagara County, NY, USA.
Why: Because we still agree with Mate (Wilson) Farnsworth's statement in the preamble to our Constitution and ByLaws and want, continually, to "cement[] ourselves and our descendants into a closer relationship and to perpetuate the love and remembrance of the dear ones who have gone before."
The details:
- As always, please bring a dish to pass, your chair, and your appetite! Even though there are benches with the tables, those seats can get a bit hard after a while.
- Sodas and bottled water will be provided. Please bring your own drink if you want something particular.
- Paper plates and plastic-ware will also be provided. If you would like something sturdier, please bring your own.
- Please remember to bring some of your Wilson family heirlooms for "show and tell." It is always interesting to see what things have been preserved within the family.
- We are also interested in family photos and stories that you are willing to share. Because electrical outlets are not available at the pavilions in the park, please either bring your photos and stories on an SDHC card or flash drive or make an appointment with the Historian so that she can scan or copy them.
- And each year we each try to bring a family member who hasn't previously attended a reunion or needs help to get to the reunion.
- The next Wilson Family Trivia Game will be posted on this site as soon as it is ready. You will be able to find the answers to all of the questions on this site. If you are unable to attend the annual reunion, but still want to be part of it, there will be a prize given to one person who sends in the correct answers to the Trivia Game.
