Letter Sent Home
Hurrah for Escondido all about ready fine morn. feeling fine (all) well Will said tother day when you write F- have her send me Union Sun & J- (sub) well says I why not send them from here so I did saves you the bother $7.50 so don’t send any more papers if any thing clip it out & send in letter East W- items for instance. &c Wills cigars arrived yes. they are smoking custom cigars now ha! ha! J.P. wrote a letter to W- when he sent them & it come back had been to Newfane & marked over & sent to Wilson then returned. when we met J.P. coming out here W- hid his head behind our bed. he got out to give us keys & looked surprised allright to see W- . W- says to pa yes we have lots to do here. J- wants to put in a roof on house & lots to do besides. I am afraid I will get hung up on my portiers the buds are in bloom out here they were just right when to Nettie’s but afraid we will be to late when we get out there again Well suppose P.P. box has arrived eat the nuts in the bag but plant the three you sent us. we have been in town since bro’t down my low shoes to get taps only one I have only old canvas ones & new rubbers it is dark & cloudy acts like rain. it can rain so quick now days, pa & W- are at a big rock in J- way where he wants to set grapes pa drilled in it, 36 in., yes. & fired it broke about 1/3 of it in pieces some to large to move so shoot them from the top the rock is 15 ft long 8 ft across & think 8 ft deep but its deeper if I am any judge but if they get the top off so pa can work over it he will be glad. it is much warmer out here than city we sleep in garage this time & he put his car in shed W- sleeps in front room on spring couch looks like single iron bed says it lays fine J- up stairs where he always sleeps I say Mary & Alice is back in Cal. from Neb. they are at Balboa where Mary has houses she had to come back on business J. says she ought to had left things in different shape when she went he is going out as soon as it dries off some mud about 15 mi of dirt road this side of Oceanside & by looks when we come out there was some mud. expect we will run the ranch while he is gone 90 miles there. Oh I don’t like this hanging around Yellowstone Park opens June15 Pa talks of going back to Mo. if he does & we stop in Kansas City, Iowa, Ill. Mich. Canada & visit at all what time will we get home can you tell me. am afraid not in time for Sinsel reunion guess they better go some where else don’t you think so say back to the Falls again, what you say. we are in garage J is having something done to car don’t expect I will have much to write about out among the mts. its rather quiet we go to bed at 8 & up at 5 ready to go to work as soon as it is light lots to do when it gets dry plenty there on that place believe me. just out garage its raining thunder. days washing done up anyway so much rain & no soft water great hard as our water it almost breaks hope all well.
