Pa wanted me to send you this just so you could see how it was worked (Mon eve 20) well it did rain again all P.M. good & smart so we had the pleasure of driving 11 miles in the rain & n mountain road we got back 4 P.M. with spring, dynamite groceries a bu. of oranges (culls $.50 bu) wish we could set a couple bu. on your porch they begin to rot in a week we were in a packing house watched them pack & grade lemons for an hour. it is fun to watch them that Dad of yours can eat more oranges than any one I ever saw when we got back to Valley C- your letter of the 14th there no don’t send us any more pop corn I think the generator to the lamp is in the last door of my kitchen cupboard it seams as if I put it in a box (B. powder or spice box) can’t tell on which shelf. look there first if not there may be its in the beauro in the toilet but I still think the cupboard thats where I would look or maby in the draws I remember putting it somewhere well pa sits in chair asleep so must put him to bed just pouring yet.
Tues 21 10 A.M. I forgot to tell you Nettie’s boy (Clair) won the cuff buttons at some fair said he would never wear them & maby our boys would enjoy playing with them. the bracelet is one she used to wear but she out grew it. I did not examine it just put both in as she said. don’t you smell beans cooking got some yes. in town. pa churned this morn. guess got 2 1/2 or 3 lb. butter. took eggs in yes. for J’s man 21 for specials 18 for pullets they weigh each egg. I got a rem. to make me an apron like I sent you & hardly enough but will make some kind of apron for camping glad we are not in camp. showered all night & rained steady all so far today. J- said snow on the Palomar mts. it has rained so I have not even seen the mts. today. What has become of your hired man I am afraid he will get sick of running back & forth & stay with Will D- imagine Bertha cook poor Mrs. D it sure wont be Sadie’s cooking. asked B-if he wanted to sell lamp & he said oh we may want it so Sadie can use it & we will see when we get home.
1:45 P.M. 2-21-‘22
