Pa went with Ellis back in the country about 60 miles it kept me a little uneasy Ellis is not used to driving much ???? you can never tell. well they come back safe & sound about 6 so I’m feeling better. Pa is out in his studio (garage) its awfull stuffy in here two smoking & the fire place. I believe I’ll go to help pa. I can’t settle down to write. well I could not help so I go to bed. good night

Wed. 11 A.M.
Well Ma & Phebe are over to store on vermont ave so we probably will not go down town she does not like to trade in the big department stores I want to put a leaf in rear spring the one Lee Stockwell welded for me it broke in the same spot way back some where in Mo. - I guess but holds good a man from Mo in camp the first day here was fixing his spring had no tools so I lent him some then he gave me a leaf for my spring will take it to Leons garage to work on it will clean carbon out of it while there the car runs fine & is getting better the farther it goes will have to knock on wood there is a block handy ha. ha. expect to start north perhaps about May 1st do not want to be caught in cold bad weather & roads & expect to take our time as we want to see this country this time so will not have to come back to soon. sure is fine to see the fields yellow with Poppies then pink with other flowers the hill blue with wild Lilac & wild sage cant hardly get ma to stay in car some times. she sure is daffy on Posies. sure enjoys seeing them. I wrote Fleming last fall but did not give him my add- thought he would see you did not know he had moved then have heard nothing yet supose he still owns Farm on East Creek Raod you might inquire when in Newfane Will could go in Bank the cashier Mr Goodrich will tell him he knows me & is a fine man perhaps can get Flemming’s address there or at P.O.
Shooting Rabbits Rocks & stumps he dug out 14 Live Oak trees some 8 feet diam at stump they sure are tough but Dynamite makes them fly blast logs & all for Posts J.P. was pleased. well S.M. comes home for dinner Ma & Pheve not back yet so he said see if I can’t get dinner & he commenced to put every thing on table lit gas & fry mush so I stopped writing cant write if any one’s talking & S sure is a talker has some “pet scheme” every day today it is painting roofs with a spray pump Ma & Phebe com ehome Pheb said get out of here. she took his job. will work on car today & probably tomorrow Ma is making a dress for herself she no doubt will send a piece sure is pretty. expect to go to redondo (Netties) in a day or so also Venice to Lens some visits to make Salisburys & C before leaving
