I wrote cards to Nettie, Phebe & Hollis & Gertrude Elton a B- card sent Blanche one a week ago. say what do you know left L.A. a week yes. pa has made tow tests since & sugar both times (now why?) its discouraging allright maby whole wheat bread maby not, can’t tell. “well what can’t be cured must be endured.” no sugar since the middle of Nov. now just as I commence to feel good over it back it comes. it makes me blue. I still weigh 147. two new neighbors just come in & are pitching their tents. expect you have the lemon blossoms. also the post cards are sending book becuse we do not want to carry it. we roasted in Bakersfield & Fresno & freeze in Merced. accent on last cylable. a nice little town not so little either. Nettie put us up a box not to be opened till we were far away so opened it on tues. P.M. turnips, carrots eggs bacon fried cakes & a work basket for me to keep crochet in filled filled with stuffed dates well its dinner time. one neighbor has 4 kids & one has cried ever since they landed hope it gets done by tonight they are next to us with a dog too. it makes one sick seeing them drag dogs along.
