left camp after cleaning fish. pict of fishing bridge 9 went C.J. way i stopped at Upper Yellowstone River Falls ii met bear with cubs pict 10 stopped at Grand view iii then Inspiration pt. iv pict. 1 & 2 & 3 canyon (1200 deep 2000 ft wide) went back to camp & got dinner P.M. I fried & pickled fish. then went fishing 13 went to bed early 37 mi

Dear Ones all
The first of July & yet so far away from home. this morn. we went up to the Grand Canyon to inspiration point. Met a mamma bear with two babies about as tall as Rex. G.P. tried to get their Pict. can tell later Wed. we boiled eggs in “Sentinel Geyser,” Tuesday we fed the “hold-up” bears G.P. was so scared don’t know whether he got pict. or not Oh Wilfred grandma has a bear story to tell you when she gets home. yes. was fishing day both together caught 18 would weigh 25 lb. wish you had some for your dinner today Salmon trout we are going to have dandeline & fish for our dinner fish fish fish oh but they’re good. Pa just bro’t me a snow ball to stay my stomache said there is quite a bank back of Hotel. the car is in front & I in it scribbling. think we will go out of here in morn. would this P.M. only we had out mail from Gardiner sent to Coda & can’t get in P.O. till Mon. we have been around this place considerable & feel quite satisfied. if I send two pict. alike (I forget) hope you are getting along fine. we are on the shore of Yellowstone Lake. pa is getting uneasy to camp dinner time my eyes ache & no wonder staring so much.
