fine morn. Colo. Sprgs very pretty shade & wide streets (36 paces wide) went to P.O. & drove around city pict 4 of “Pikes Peak” i as we saw it. around by Aunt Stells house ii 5 & 6 took pick. dinner in Prospect Park. iii tuned up “Liz” & rolled out of Colo Sprgs pict 7 camp thru “Pueblo” Colo. bottom land a smokey city lead & copper smelters. iv for 20 mi garden truck of all kinds cherries & apples alfalfa ready for 2nd cutting & ground almost covered with stacks. left Colo Sprgs after driving around town. 1:30 P.M. drove in all 117 mi


Cards Sent Home


Well we did it got here (Colo. Springs) last night 8.30 sure every thing has went our way the last three days can’t expect it much longer fine roads just send one letter to Enid & quick to if all goes well we will be there in four or five days. will soon send new Add. Mother


Dear Ones. we are at P.O. rec. your letter. I wrote you card while in camp this morn. fine camp beside Prospect Lake (Free). Pa got me some sour cheeries last night they were small but very nice what are they worth at home this year wish we were there to get my fill right from tree. we are not going up “Pikes Peak” $4.00 each & 2.00 each toll. I need new shoes to bad. I have seen enough mts. thank you. don’t kill yourself working. pay my share in money for aid. I feel as if I could tear the house down. ha. ha. expect it would soon wear off. only for my arms aching. short on cards.
