Letter Received
Dear Cousins
We were indeed glad to hear from you to know that you are safe and well I have often thought of you and hoped you were safe. There has been so many bad storms and floods in places and at Winfield Kan. the tourists Park was flooded and two campers were drowned and we did not know what rout you were coming and I couldn’t help thinking now that might have been Mary and Ben am glad it was not. We have had destructive storms around us but none to amount to any thing here It rained Saturday night and this morning We were needing a little rain and it cooled the air of. We haven’t had very many days of very hot weather so far this summer but it sure was hot Saturday and yesterday. Now you folks will not have to go so awful far out of your way to visit us and probably you will not get so close to us very soon again so please pretty please do not pass us by I know you have been away from home a long time and are anxious to get home but you can stand it a while longer you have seen such sights and are having a nice time now. Are the people you are visiting now related to Effie Johnson? There is a family of Hill here in Garnett mabe they are related to you to come and see they are nice folks. If you can write and let us know about when to expect you so we will be sure to be at home We very seldom go away though so there isn’t much danger of missing us. Well I must stop writing and go to work So good by untill I see you Be sure and come
With Love Mabel
