left Den’s 10 A.M. rained this morn. 3 till day light stopped in Decatur, Mich. gas & eats. fine driving roads good dropped down hill from poor sand to muck land garden onions & celery on around Paw Paw Mich grapes Battlecreek farming come thru U.S. reservation “Camp Custer” miles of old buildings some tore down some standing windows all out &c &c i Jackson on thru to Grass Lake found Chamberlains ii 8 130 mi
