Although it is possible that "Liberty" refers to some section of the Observatory in 1921 that does not appear to still have that name, it is also possible that Mary is referring to a car, which would probably be a Liberty motor car. The Liberty Six Touring Motor Car was made by the Liberty Motor Car Company of Detroit, MI, which operated from 1916-1924.
