"All went down Canyon" on mules. Mary records the names of their mules. This appears to be a tradition at the Canyon. The guide routinely tells each rider the name of his or her mule. In more recent years, each rider also receives a certificate proclaiming her or him to be a "Master Mule Skinner of the Grand Canyon Trails." In addition to including the rider's name, the certificate also records the mule's name.
