Dear ones all -
I am writing just because I have time but land only knows where & when I will mail it. we camped on the plains among greese wood last night none of us rested very well it was hot & mosquitoes were hungry. well we are at Shavers well ii 12 miles to Mecca. it is 1.30 P.M. we have had our dinner of canned tomatoes, bread & sardines cup cake. I had cinnamon roll instead plenty of good spring water but I could make a gal. of water from our well disappear. if the roads are good & we do not have to much car trouble we will camp in Los Angles tomorrow night. Bill is having some car trouble today & expect tire trouble any minute his tires are bad. I am disappointed in the desert it is deep sand most of the time but it is full of greece bush they call it they look like a “young” orchard only grow more like currant bushes. well Bill is ready to go on & if we don’t keep going well you know - I feel sleepy it is warm. it is real hot in the sun but quite comfortable riding this will perhaps be the last time I write till we get there Hope all well. remember us to all inquiring friends.
