Letters Sent Home

Dear ones all -

I am feeling better today your daddy is better too his boil is doing fine it is a pretty nice fat one I was surprised you had not rec. my letter I wrote when we first come here I think I wrote it about the 18th no doubt you have it by this time. Eunice i does not know where her husband is but she would like to. she told me quite a little of her troubles. she is doing very well gets 165 per month teaching Mexican children she says she expects to teach long enough to draw a pension now that she is at it again

well I hardly know what to write my mind wanders this morn. I sent our wash to the laundry with the folks here. pa is writing his opinion on the lights I know I can’t write it right. we got a letter from Wilbur ii he sent Nettie’s iii add. also one from cousin Maria iv & sent our Leonard’s v add. he is not in Los Angeles but Vienna 15 miles from here. & Redondo Beach is about the same distance but Dr W- vi says I can’t get out much for a week or two. he tests me every day & if no sugar gives me little more to eat. I have had no kind of bread for a week. I told him this morn. I was tired of gluten bread but tho’t it would taste pretty good now but he said not yet. so not yet it will be

We Steve, P. vii Pa & I went for a little drive yesterday toward evening. we saw a fire in the distance & drove that way & got in the worst jam I ever was in I guess it was an hour before we got thru. the fire was a long pile of telephone poles. they made a great fire. I slept good last night after our drive & feel pretty fair this morn. I am getting stronger & think I will as I get more to eat. when we got back last night the lights were out save the double faced pumpkin on the table & one light in sitting room of orange paper &c on & 4 little girls sitting at the table having a halloween party the table was all decorated with flowers with a ghost at each plate. napkins with cats &c on they were having a great time Dortha June (Ellis girl) & Norma are about of a size & Helen & Bettie viii the four get along just fine you never hear a word between them & they want to be together all the time. Ben is going to the store for P- so will put this in box

bye bye Love to all Mom & Dad

Monday Morn Oct 31/21

Well another fine day all feeling fine

Mother is writing expect she has told all the news as to wiring barn I never got a O.K. or whatever it was from Wilbur ix on House x he promised it every time I mentioned it to him oh yes he would send it that was all he ever did (do not think he could get it) if insurance co demanded it will have to get some inspector to examine the job. so thought to wait as the pipe or conduit has been 4 times as high as it was you or Will xi can put the light in celler keep wires apart & cut line at switch board of left side working at it. you ought to draw the watter out of heater & rinse it out as much as you can by letting a pail or so of clean watter in & then blow out

glad watter & Light Plant have given no trouble

I am dreading that corn husker wondering who will be next. there is about 700 000 inhabitants in this city & it seems as though they ought to send some one to Buffalo to learn how to handle the traffic cars packed for blocks & they can’t get rid of the jam can’t pass street cars while standing & they just join up. Valey Center is 100 miles or better from here will get out there by & by hope to before he xii hears we are here good roads most of way Len Sintzel xiii is in Venice on the Beach 15 miles from L.A. there is a murder trial xiv here this week the papers are full

by by love to all Pa
