Dear folks all

here I am scribbling on wrapping paper (came near having collision) I get out of tablet paper & don’t know it well we did it found Nettie Kline Ray yes. she sure was surprised to see us had not heard we were out here. pa & I left her 9:05 A.M. drove to Redondo 18 miles there we inquired at last a big policeman come along so he asked him he said he knew the boy he come in with veg. & eggs & poultry 2 or 3 times a week. B- said he is the man. well he said go out the boulevard 2 miles then inquire I can’t tell just where they live so we traveled on the first place we asked they told us just where to find them about 1/4 or 1/2 mile we had a fine visit we started back about 4 but got caught in the dark as soon as the sun goes in the ocean (it looks that way) it is soon dark their boy reminded me of Dwight just as nice his build, hair & eyes as any boy I ever saw. 19 Tuesday (last) they asked us over any time & they would go around with us. I saw the first time lemons & blossoms in the tree at same time & picked my first lemon from his tree. don’t know when we will be able to get out. pa drew wood again all day Fri. & Sat. he built fence to make chicken yard. today he is boarding up garage then next will be chicken house. P- is determined to keep chickens so expect they stay. say did you ask carrier how much postage on the papers you send seams to me you pay twice as much as you ought to don’t bother with the Newfane paper pa don’t look at that. we went by fatty arbuckle’s $100,000 home a couple of weeks ago where his wife & mother is living it looks like a jail high brick wall all around it (glad I am not in his boots) glad Wilfred is fine hope you are all well it is quite cool here have had 4 hard frosts out to Nettie’s that killed the tomato vines.

Love to all. Mother
