Dear Ones all,

Here I am again received your letter this P.M. with checks O.K. thank you they will come in handy I commence this tonight & maby I can think more before I mail it. Dr. was not here today but I was O.K. yesterday even if I had a dumpling out at Nettie’s Sun. I have not told him but your dad had to “spill the beans” here as usual the old tattle tale. no secrets in our family. I will say right here Steve is not getting rich in the real estate business he has not made a sale in four weeks it costs him to advertize in the paper all the while just the same pa is coming down with a hard cold & so is little Helen this is her third whirl at it since we have been here so if this is such a fine climate they get colds often enough just the same. Harry says there is lots of Influenza around. I mind the cold more than I did last winter we put on a sweater the first thing in the morn. & about 10 take it off then put it on again about three the only way to heat the house is a fire place they start fire & we all sit in a circle 8 of us it smokes so they keep the windows open & a draft on you all the time (No likey) now right here, did the Azelia live? I have wondered about it so much & how is the Helitrope. well I have worked myself out of a job I patched three comforts finished the last one just before I commenced this note Phoebe said that was the last one the next job she wants to piece a wosterd one. I finished some lace she had here for pillow cases I don’t mind doing any way is good enough. G- C’s crocheting would take the prize. this pencile was a present from a garage in Flagstaff I had forgotten I had it. I got a new tablet yes. but tho’t I would save it. I have been able to straighten out all the letters so far so send them along any way they happen to be. we are both fine feeling Pa is not thru with his carpenter work yet & I don’t think he will be tomorrow. Eunice & Helen have gone to movie. Steve to bed he is bum. Phoebe is patching a dress & talking every minute so I am getting confused & I am running down (she don’t very often) so will quit for tonight we are so glad to hear our curly headed boy is fine pa got me more dried beef today & bacon & eggs. what are butter & eggs do the hens lay &c &c. we use Nuco here 31¢ lb. genuine butter 60¢ pullet eggs (little small) 53 bacon 37 unsliced pork chops 40 lamb stew 15 we had lamb stew for supper & how we all ate broth it just hit Steve & that is all he did eat hot broth & bread. Phoebe’s rooster is going to die tomorrow for thanksgiving dinner with three wild ducks Harry bro’t over a friend give him one is about as large as half my fist the other both will weigh maby 3 lb. no more but fat here goes nothing to bed. (Next morn.) Poor Fern its a shame Snow B- is gone. what does Dehn expect to save working in Buff. & traveling on trolley well I expect that is his business tho others are concerned over his financial affairs. Ellis’s birthday today. 36 Eunice tells him not to mention it she is only two yrs. after him. Well pa died the rooster. What become of the silverware we had plated you have not tho’t to mention. can Wilfred find any of grandma’s sugar cookies. it don’t act as Dr Harry is coming this morn. it is near ten & he is due at office 10.30 he stops here on his way to Hosp. must close mail carrier due too 10 to 10.15 pretty regular. they get up so late & Eunice leaves at 8 so we don’t get much done before Yunch as Helen calls it. then we have cooked dinner at night. don’t care when or how I get enough to eat & I do believe me.

Love to all Mother
