slept very well after a while got our break. then on toward Oceanside then drove down to beach did not get out car then turned off toward Escondido then farming country cattle lots of them turned in fields to eat sugar beet tops celery & celery 4 tel. poles wide & 10 long looks like rich ground as nearing Escondido mountainier in city found man in hardware store that knew J.P.R. i & told us where he lived two miles from Valley Center 11 miles so we went to free camp gr. & got our supper turned in early as we had no lights to read & crochet nice & quiet only for autoes & geese they did not bother us only ones in camp
