Dear ones all

Well we have had a very busy week Mon. was the last we wrote you & sent some pict. post c. did I send any besides the floats I forget what I do send & pa says you never say whether you get them or not. we went to Redondo to Netties & stayed there till Fri. P.M. had a fine time. oh but it is cold believe me Thurs. night it froze ice 3/8 of an in. thick & did not melt all day Fri. night it froze again & Sat night & will get it again tonight. right in the middle of the day the sun is hot but cools so quick & no way to heat their houses gas is so low can hardly cook (so many uses gas for heat) we have been just as cold here as we have in good Old N.Y. lemon & orange trees are frozen & the outside fruit is soft they have ordered no fruit to be picked till Feb. 6 they think 1/4 of the fruit is lost. most of the fruit growers yes all of them belong to the growers association. they tell them when to pick & when not. We rec. your letter last night when we got back from Griffith Park telling of uncle Wills coming we have no plans made & will meet him we want to go out to J.P.s again & intended to go about the first tho’t it would warm up by then hope so anyway. was surprised to hear he was coming. J.P. will be surprised now I will tell how we come to go to the park yes. Helen wanted Uncle Ben to be sure & get back Fri. night to help her dad to take her S.S. class about 12 girls (12 yrs old). (Leons have just come. 9:30 Leon’s have just gone thats the way my time goes.) to the Park on Sat. well Steve tho’t he had sold some real estate so forgot about the picnis so they were going out on the bus as Pa could not take them all Sat. morn. Helen made potato salad & went over to the church 15 minutes late & not one girl there she waited around there about 15 min. then come back to the house. Golda said what a shame lets you & I go any way so I said whats the matter of us all going so we put up more lunch & Eunice, Helen, Golda, Ben & I & the two little girls went it was a nice drive & a fine park on & among the mountains. lots of animals & birds. it was a mountainous ride home we came the Hollywood Mt. drive. I am afraid Steves sale has fell thru. can’t tell yet Ellis has gone some distance to try to get work “Little Bear Lake” I think it takes most of two days to go the snow there is 9 ft. deep. we have promised to go to Len S- this week. say Florence please send me the meaurements of our rolling door width & height I am contemplating making a drape of beads & Eucayliptus buds what do you think about it. Nettie wants to show me how. oh by the way measure your door too. if I did not gad so much I could do more. I made a couple aprons & a house dress for Nettie while there oh yes & we went to Redondo & got goods. I tell you the geraniums now look very sick as well as the ferns are black. celery gone. well the folks are all going to bed. oh I nearly forgot Pa & I went out to see Hollis & Gertrude today they are just fine & as happy as can be. they had a picture of their house taken & sent one home. good night
