frost bright day got back to Los A 8:30 A.M. in time for children’s operation B went to help Leon.
Letter Sent Home
Dear ones.
I did not get a chance to mail your letter till we got to sub P.O. here on Vermont St. when we got back here to Steves 8:30 they were hustling around getting ready to have the little girls Dortha & Helen’s adanoids out so that job is done no school this week so it is a good time. your letter waiting for us telling of Mrs. Dehn’s death also Mrs Salow’s & about Spotties family & kittens. ice storms &c also a letter from O saying Aunt Ann (Grace’s mother) [Cornelia “Anne” Bixler / Grace Alice Sinsel Croft?] had fell of couch & broke her hip a letter from Cousin Maria saying Tom was not much better. one from Hattie saying she was still at Emma’s cooking for Lester & Kathy & E- was at Ton. caring for Dan’s whole family was sick with one thing or another (& it will be another in May or June) one from Grace Chapman asking us to be sure & visit them (Kansas City) one from Mrs. Bolton saying if we went home near Akron to remember she still lived at the same place. (6 letters) Helen just vomited over the bed poor girls sure to feel bum. we are planning to go around sight seeing soon don’t expect we will come way back here every night to many camps. New York folks have a picnic Sat. in one of the parks expect we will be there next month some other state will have one they have been having them all winter when the weather was good enough. we had a white frost over at Netties this morn. they have some garden stuff trying to grow. the flowers are coming out so pretty your plants must be very pretty. glad W- is better Oh I’m so sleepy I can hardly keep my eyes open we were up as late over to Netties. I will have to catch up (sleep) great big tears come in Netties eyes when we talk of leaving. I intended to help Phebe with her dresses but now she is talking about making little Helen’s (3) first so we are going to skip when Pa gets thru helping Leon want to leave Los A the fore part of May but will be in the state of bum Cal. some time yet but in the northern part will go & mail this so I can wake up. hope all keep well. we are fine.
