nice morn. Left camp 7:30 stopped in Portland, Ore, got gas book in city went in Ore. bld. saw perserved fruit & got some eats. took pict. of me in ferns at beside road then toddled on toward Rainer got there to late for 2 o’clock boat ferry so went in Salmon cannery all cleaned up. got on Ferry an old scow shushed drawn by Myrtle & Eadem i 3 cars on our scow pa took of boat passing crossed Columbia & up the Cowlitz R. had (1.40 min) ride. ii Kelso, Wash on thru Castle Rock on way between CR & Toledo come thru timber (tall) roads straight (a sight) camped Toledo free camp beside Cowlitz River moved camp stink 90 mi
