left camp 5:45 slept good only for trains on thru canyons & valleys mailed letters home at Cottage grove on to Walker (just P.O. & store) there mailed “Scotch bloom” i home on thru canyons at Eugene gas struck a wide valley prunes & roses canyons then Albany, Salem went thru Capitol from north to south (tel Ede) strawberries, berries, hops, ferns galore struck Oregon City 7:30 camped in free park way up hill on Willamette River 160 mi

We are sending a P.P. Pkt. of a shrub “Scotch Bloom” plant it in the East corner by bay window water it well (plant one each side_ & try your best to make it grow they grow anywhere here Cottage Grove & Walker, Ore. maby better plant it in garden first & see if grows we will transplant
