camped last night in a mans rear yard 9 mi from Pittsburg left camp & drove 3 mi then had breakfast by side of road had rocks to sit on at break men tinkered cars thru Pittsburg, McCune, Parsons got bread & saw parade 3 counties holding fair all the people out. ate dinner opposite club grounds by a river on to Cherrydale had ice cream & drink thru Independence to Moline Kan free camping gr 125 miles

breakfast over we are within 6 mi. of Pittsburg Kan. men are looking over cars & nearly ready to roll on. we are feeling fine & dandy. we took dinner yes. at Carthage at Bill’s friends Griggs I had a good nap there & really don’t get so tired riding as I do hustling around visiting. the roads from Carthage are fine hope you are all well. some hot here & dry in Kan. so long
