Dear Ones at Home

We wont get to Tempe as soon as we expected. we go to the Petrified forest & Grand Canyon first would not be surprised if it would be a week yet. but we are having a fine time just the same. the boys stop & shoot hawks & prairie dogs & view the mountains. great sights I say we camped in among the cedars on the plains. will climb mount. the first few miles about 10 I expect. we all slept just fine last night & are all in the best of spirits. we are just out of a little town where we payed 40¢ for gas Springerville is our next big town ?? away if we dont soon ?? want get there today [remainder illegible]

Card 2:

Just left the Petrified Forest in Arizona. what a sight. Pa paced one 90 ft. & just like flint & all colors of the rainbow they call it “rainbow forest” we took some samples but whether we get them home or not. if all goes well about two days yet & we will be to the "Grand Canyon" the road is so chopped up we have to drive slow went 106 mi. yes. we are all well. rest very well any where we happen to stop. 2 wks yes. we left Mo. & J- tho’t we would be at her peoples in a week or 10 days so you see we take it slow. I am finishing this in Holbrook, Ariz. a nice little town. have just stocked with eats. now gas Bill is at well now. hope you are all fine.

Love to All M & P
