Mary's Journal Entry
got up early & drove before break not far 4 mi B shot a rabbit & quail we stopped in shade of mountain & fried some for break. then on thru Mayer & out of sandy plains come to irrigated country what a change trees just fine corn cotton palms big ones olianders as large as cherry trees loaded with pink flowers on thru this lovely country when within a mile of Phoenix our rear wheel wobbled so drove in garage & man had to go to City & get one held us up over an hour W & J come back then we made a grand dash for Tempe got to J’s people about 6:30
