first went to information office saw stage coach Gen Sherman rode in in 1877. Indians cap. it & it was recaptured. Went 108 mi in 8 hrs. 6 horses in relays. one man drove whole distance. i then to Liberty cap & hot springs. ii B pict. then walked around below “Mammoth hot springs” then went up on top lake & hot water boiling out of rocks a foot high B more pict. “Jupiter Terrace” iii then to buffalo carol. iv then climb up mt (Lizzie did) top of Mammoth hot springs ate lunch then up thru Silver gate (pict) then Golden gate (pict) v Apollinaris spring stopped (water mineral) got black rock of Obsidian cliff. passed Beaver lake. saw another hot place. B got out (I not). on to Norris Geyser they were fine stopped at Gibbon Falls camped at Madison Junct. 36 mi come by snow right in valley where sun shone all day.
