Mary's Journal Entry
left camp 5 to 5 drove nearly 3 mi to ferry little early for ferry man so built fire & had owl breakfast - 6 o’clock (Osage River) B [Ben] took picture crossed ferry 6:45 hills then more hills 5 miles from Bagnell Bill broke cone in front wheel so stopped & fixed it Bill looked over our car then it was our turn we got stalled on a hill & was held up two hr. in the boiling sun. then on we went to a summer resort Ha ha Tonka, Mo. had a duce of a time getting there but finally did & camped for the night with both cars together & canvas over lightninged but not rain mosquitoes oh fierce

We drove past this building last night we camped in a school-yard an old big owl hooted at us. we rested fine & left 5 min. to 5. drove 3 mi. then took Ferry across Osage R. we saw Minnie Williams when we come by & she expects Hattie & W- about Sept. we are all feeling fine am standing the ride fine hope you are all well suppose you go to reunion today. Love
